Именно поэтому бета-1,3-глюкан, полученный из Euglena gracilis, предпочтителен. Он не имеет химических побочных ответвлений или твердых частиц, его клеточная стенка намного тоньше, чем у овса или дрожжей, поэтому он легче усваивается, и, наконец, концентрация бета-глюкана в клеточных стенках водорослей составляет более 95%, что намного выше, чем в дрожжах.
